Jessica Simpson’s daughter had an exciting experience recently, flying in a private plane to attend a Katy Perry concert. In an interview with Bustle, the 42-year-old singer shared her feelings about her daughter seeing Katy Perry before witnessing her own performance. Simpson expressed that she wants her children to see her as both a mother and a singer.
Reflecting on her kids witnessing her musical talents, Simpson mentioned, “I’m doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage. And they’ve never seen me do this.” She then revealed that her daughter traveled on a private plane with North West, Kim Kardashian’s daughter, to see Katy Perry in Vegas. Simpson candidly admitted, “And inside I’m like, ‘She was supposed to see me first.'”
However, the singer quickly reassured herself, saying, “Then I’m like, ‘This is not competitive, Jessica. Let your daughter enjoy Katy Perry.’ But there are moments that make me want to do it—for them to see that color of me.”
Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson are proud parents to three children: Birdie Mae, 4, Maxwell Drew, 11, and Ace Knute, 9. In a heartfelt Instagram post in May, Simpson shared that her daughter, Maxwell, had selflessly used her birthday wish to ask for successful bone cancer treatments for her grandfather. Simpson expressed her gratitude to Maxwell for her loving gesture.
In a previous appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in March 2020, Simpson opened up about her journey to sobriety, stating that her children were her main motivation. She realized that her alcohol use was causing her to miss out on precious moments with her kids and that they were becoming confused by her behavior. Simpson wanted to be present, have clarity, and set a positive example for her children.
Overall, Jessica Simpson strives to balance her roles as a mother and a singer, and she cherishes the moments when her children can witness her talents while also enjoying other experiences.
